William “Billy” Allen, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at the age of 91. Born on June 20, 1933, in Paterson to Leslie and Elizabeth Allen, Billy grew up in the neighborhoods of Singac, Little Falls, and South Paterson. He completed his education at Central High School before joining the U.S. Navy in 1952, serving notably at Naval Station Norfolk and aboard the USS Forrestal in Virginia until his honorable discharge in 1956.

Billy wed Carol E. Allan on September 19, 1959. The couple shared 65 wonderful years, creating a warm and inviting home first in South Paterson and later in Brick and Toms River, NJ. They reveled in the joys of the Jersey Shore, making lasting memories with their daughters Barbara and Sandy, along with their families and friends, in Wildwood, Seaside, and Cape May. Billy was a familiar figure on the boardwalks of Point Pleasant and Keansburg, where he entertained his grandchildren with his skills at boardwalk games and arcade cranes, never missing a chance to join them on the rides. His love for Taylor ham sandwiches, cheesesteaks, and raw clams on the half shell made every outing memorable.
