About

William Perault Sr., affectionately known as Bill, passed away on January 28, 2025, following a short illness. Born on December 31, 1939, in Pittsfield, MA, he was the son of Thomas Perault and Helen Hubbard Perault. On December 27, 1992, Bill married Diane Abruscato in Weston, CT, and they enjoyed 30 years of marriage until her passing in May 2023.

A talented pianist, Bill delighted audiences wherever he performed, from private gatherings at his and Diane’s home to well-known venues like Wheatleigh, The Orchards, Williams College Faculty Club, Portofino, and The 1896 House. His musical skills extended beyond performance to piano tuning, rebuilding, and composing original pieces and arrangements. Bill also lent his keyboard talents to several local theater productions.

Known for his exceptional culinary skills, Bill loved to experiment with and perfect his recipes. His infectious laughter and sense of humor were beloved by all who knew him. Bill proudly served in the Air Force, receiving an honorable discharge in 1964.

Preceded in death by his wife Diane, parents, stepson Richard Morsa, brothers Tom and Jim, and sister Pat, Bill leaves behind a loving family. He is survived by his son, Bill Perault Jr., his wife Maryann, and their children Hannah, Noah, and Emily (Elijah); his daughter, Michelle Perault; his former wife, Judy Perault; numerous members of the Abruscato family; and a circle of dear friends.

Bill’s family extends their gratitude to the staff of Unit 3 at Williamstown Commons for their dedicated and compassionate care, as well as to HospiceCare in The Berkshires for their support during his final days.
