Shirley Jean (Foster, Phipps) Adomat, aged 96, from Frankfort, Michigan, passed away peacefully on the morning of January 27, 2025. A memorial service to celebrate her life will take place at Sunset Hills Mausoleum in Flint, Michigan, on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at 1 p.m. Guests are invited to meet with the family following the service at North Baptist Church, located at 4004 Lennon Road, Flint, MI 48507.

Born on August 27, 1928, in Rockville Center, Long Island, NY, Shirley was the cherished daughter of Silas Foster Elmstrom, a New York City police officer, and his wife Lorena (Verity) Foster. A naturally talented musician, Shirley showed an aptitude for music early in her life. She pursued her passion for piano throughout her childhood and later attended Houghton College in New York, where she obtained a Bachelor’s degree in music in 1950 after graduating from Baldwin High School in 1946.
