Sally Anne Prior, aged 88, of Berlin, Connecticut, passed away peacefully at her residence on February 3, 2025, following a lengthy illness. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of John and Anna Steinkamp. Sally was widowed by her husband, Paul J. Prior, and is mourned by her children: Kathleen Prior of Delaware, Susan Prior of Berlin, CT, Paul Prior Jr., and Michael Prior Sr., both also of Berlin, CT. Her legacy extends to five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Professionally, Sally was a dedicated registered nurse and co-owned a nursing home in Kensington, CT with her late husband. The Priors were well-traveled, assessing international Homes for the Aged as part of their work in nursing home management. Sally was an avid bird watcher who enjoyed feeding hawks and had a passion for reading. She imparted her knowledge of raising Monarch butterflies to her grandchildren, teaching them in her backyard.

A private memorial service will be held to honor Sally’s life. The family suggests that donations be made to the Berlin Land Trust, Inc., at P.O. Box 94, Berlin, CT 06037 in lieu of flowers. Arrangements are being handled by Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home of Berlin.
