Robert A. Anderson, age 88, departed this life on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at the Southgate Nursing and Rehabilitation Center located in Metropolis. His funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at the Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home, with interment to follow at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

He leaves behind his beloved wife of 66 years, Ellen Duley Anderson; their son, Robert E. Anderson and his wife Kathy; five grandchildren, Rachel, Jason, Hannah, Josiah Anderson, and Timothy Worth; along with two great grandchildren and one more expected soon. Robert is also survived by his sister, Meredith Holliday and her husband Lary; his brothers, James Anderson and his wife JoEllen, and Charles Anderson and his wife Sharon; as well as his sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Jean Reed and her husband Steve, Ann English, and Ray Duley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
