Rita J. Abba, originally from Vineland, passed away serenely on March 3, 2025, in Rancho Mirage, California. Born to Anthony and Carmella Asselta, Rita graduated from Sacred Heart High School and devoted 22 years of her career to the Vineland Board of Education. As a Data Entry Operator and Secretary at Max Leuchter Elementary School, she cherished every student and nurtured them as her own.

A devout Catholic, Rita attended daily mass and was an enthusiastic pinochle player. She cherished the moments spent playing cards with her family and friends, always eager to share her love for the game with newcomers. Rita was also a passionate Philadelphia Phillies fan, frequently attending games at Citizens Bank Park and loyally watching every match on the MLB network, even after relocating to California.
