Louise E. Webb, aged 96, of Marion, passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at 10:09 am, encircled by her loving family. Born on April 26, 1928, in Bluffton, Indiana, she was the daughter of John and Jessie (Allen) Eby. Louise led a life marked by vigor and a myriad of accomplishments.
A graduate of Rockcreek High School, she furthered her education at the Fort Wayne Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing. Louise and her husband, Edson E. Webb, who she married on November 9, 1949, were the proprietors of Webb Furniture in Gas City. A devoted homemaker, Louise also contributed actively to the First United Methodist Church in Marion.
Louise cherished her hobbies, which included doll collecting, reading, tennis, and wood carving. She held the title of past Ladies Champion at the Limber Lost Country Club and took pleasure in playing the piano, engaging in card games, knitting, crocheting, and keeping a journal. Recently, she triumphed in a spelling bee at Cedar Creek Assisted Living. A seasoned traveler, her journeys took her to destinations such as China, Italy, Germany, and Hawaii. During the summer months, she often retreated to a lake house on an island in Rome City, Indiana, where she enjoyed the company of her dear friends, the Stockwells.
Louise’s family legacy continues with her daughter, Judith A. Sears of Somerset; her sons, David R. (Janet) Webb and Timothy G. (Terri) Webb, both residing in Marion; step-son, E. Gene (Theresa) Webb of Pinellas Park, FL; eight grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and her daughter-in-law, Velen Webb.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Edson E. Webb; her parents, John D. and Jessie Mae Eby; her son, Robert A. Webb; and her sister, Betty J. Miller.
The family will welcome friends from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel, located at 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
Following the visitation, a celebration of Louise’s life will commence at 1:00 pm, with her final resting place being at Estates of Serenity.
