Larry Randolph Golden, cherished as a husband, father, grandfather, brother, and a valued member of his community, and known for his passion as a tree farmer, passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, Georgia, at the age of 74.

Born at Tift County Hospital, Larry was a proud lifelong resident of Georgia. He was a devout member of Avalon Methodist Church in Albany, Georgia. Larry completed his high school education at Albany High School in 1968, where he was a member of the football team. He then attended Albany Junior College and went on to the University of Georgia, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in accounting in 1972.

Larry’s professional life spanned over five decades as a certified public accountant, a dedicated tree farmer, and an entrepreneur. His career was distinguished by his commitment and wide-ranging interests.

In a loving marriage that began 52 years ago on December 16, 1972, Larry and his wife moved to St. Simons Island, Georgia, that same year. There, he worked for Schell & Hogan, CPAs of Brunswick, Georgia. Both Larry and his wife, Martha, were active in the St. Simons United Methodist Church community, serving as youth counselors.
