We are deeply saddened to share the news of the passing of Katie Mai Abernathy. A cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Katie passed away peacefully on February 7, 2025, at the age of 95. A devoted member of Antioch First Baptist Church, she spent many years impacting lives through her work at Aladdin.

Katie was predeceased by her beloved husband, Carson Abernathy, with whom she shared 52 years of marriage; her parents, John and Beulah Morgan; and her siblings, Hugh, John, Marie, Margaret, and James.

Her loving spirit will live on through her daughter, Karen (Jimbo) Allen; her granddaughters, Kim (Jeff) Warbritton and Kristi (Chris) Kain; and her great-grandchildren, Emma, Rylee, Carter Warbritton, Ansley, and Hudson Kain. Katie’s guidance and love remain a beacon of inspiration to her family, who will continue to honor her legacy.
