About
Judith Ann Aitken, originally from Twin Falls, Idaho, passed away on February 12, 2025. Born on July 2, 1945, in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, Judith was the daughter of Canadian Kathaleen (Lowe) Aitken and American Lt. Joseph Aitken, a WWII USA Army Air Corps fighter pilot stationed in Alaska. After the war, the family relocated to Idaho, settling temporarily with Joseph’s parents in Meridian. As newcomers from Canada, their arrival brought about some cultural adjustments for everyone involved.
Throughout her childhood, Judith’s family moved frequently due to her father’s military assignments. They lived in various locations including Japan, Germany, California, Nebraska, Florida, Michigan, Louisiana, and Texas, with Judith gaining siblings along the way—a brother named Joe and a sister named Jackie. During her high school years in Kaiserslautern, Germany, Judith hoped to graduate there, but the Air Force’s plans required the family to move again.
