Joseph W. Peters, aged 75, passed away on Thursday afternoon, February 6, 2025, at Gettysburg Hospital in Biglerville, PA.

Joseph was born on August 13, 1949, in Thurmont, MD, and was a son to the late William and Katherine (Clabaugh) Peters. He shared 24 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Ann M. (Shriner) Peters, also of Biglerville.

He dedicated 40 years to his career as a research development engineer, initially with Landis Tool in Waynesboro, and concluded his professional journey at Schindler Elevator in Gettysburg before retiring. Joseph was an avid golfer, a Corvette enthusiast, and cherished his moments spent with his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Joseph leaves behind his wife, Ann, and two children: Steven M. Black and his wife, Andrea, and Ryan M. Black and his wife, Jessica. He is also survived by his three grandchildren, Taylor, Peyton, and Preston Black; five siblings: Virginia Harbaugh of Cascade, MD, Gloria Mumpower of Waynesboro, PA, Nancy Bankard of Thurmont, MD, David Peters of Emmitsburg, MD, and Penny Stup of Clearville, PA, along with numerous nieces and nephews. His sister, Arlene Beard, predeceased him.
