Born on November 29, 1960, in Oceanside, California, Jeb’s life was marked by frequent moves with his family through various states including California, Washington, Iowa, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts. In his childhood, Jeb was known for his creative spirit, engaging with his imaginary friends he dubbed “Gawgies” and dismantling household electronics like record players, TVs, and fans to explore their inner workings. Following his parents’ separation at the age of nine, Jeb and his brother spent their days adventuring into the forests, constructing robust, water-proof shelters such as tree houses, teepees, and lean-tos made from pine branches they gathered, showcasing Jeb’s early talent for design.
