Janette Allean Abney, formerly of Antigo, passed away at The Bay at Eastview Medical and Rehabilitation Center on March 4, 2025. Born on May 6, 1935, in Crandon, she was the cherished daughter of Lewis and Gudrun (Cleveland) Weber. Janette was 89 years old. In Crandon, on August 21, 1954, she wed Garland Abney, who passed before her on October 14, 2014.

A proud alumnus, Janette graduated from Crandon High School in the class of 1953. She was an active and devoted member of SS Mary & Hyacinth Catholic Church, where she found joy in decorating and maintaining the sacristy. Her community roles included serving as the past president of the Rosary Society and crafting vestments for Rev. Jeremiah Worman.

Her passions included working with potatoes, volunteering within the community, and crocheting, all of which she pursued with enthusiasm and dedication.
