Helen Marie Adams, aged 99, passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Clay Gardens Place due to natural causes associated with her age. Born on December 29, 1925, in Pekin, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Leslie and Edna Harmon Rabel. Helen dedicated over 25 years of her career to Brockway Glass as an Inspector. A devout member of Fair Oaks Baptist Church, she actively participated in the Mary Martha Missionary Circle’s Christian Sunday School class. Helen cherished her hobbies, which included traveling, reading, and sewing. In her later years, she took on the role of Ambassador for the Resident Council at Clay Gardens Place, where she relished in the social interactions with fellow residents. Helen’s presence will be deeply missed by her numerous friends and family.
She leaves behind her children, Donna Hockensmith, Jack (Carolyn) Huey, Debbie (Terry) Marple, Mary (Myron) Jolly, and Gary (Jamie) Huey; stepchildren, Mary Jane Peffer, Ruth Adams, Bill (Wendy) Adams, and John (Susie) Adams; half-sister, Loretta Kotzmoyer; as well as 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren, and her dear friend, Debbie Kneen.
