Helen Abrahams had a daily ritual with her husband: each morning, she would ask if her name appeared in the obituaries. “Congrats, Mom, you’re not in there yet!” would be the lighthearted reply. Helen, claiming to be eternally 39, departed on February 8, 2025, and resided in Rockville, MD. A native New Yorker, Helen led senior programs in Montgomery County after diverse roles in retail and education. She had an affinity for overly sweet iced coffee, loved music, excelled at baking kugels, and cherished nothing more than her family and friends. Helen was deeply devoted to her late husband Howard, her children Jenny (Daniel) Flax and Michael (Rachael) Abrahams, her sister Leona, and adored her grandchildren Max, Sara, and Jack. In her final years, her life was greatly enriched by the companionship of Hal Morrison and the support of Anastasia Lang. A memorial service to celebrate her life will take place on Monday, February 10 at 1 p.m. at The Carnegie in Gaithersburg, MD.
