Born on February 6, 1942, in Duncan, Oklahoma, to James Abner Akers and Altha Alice Akers, Harold experienced a spiritual rebirth in 1954, dedicating his life to faith. He married Sonya Presgrove on March 31, 1972, in his hometown, and together they shared a devoted marriage of over five decades.

Harold was a man of great generosity and kindness, always ready to help others without a second thought. He valued simplicity and the joy found in everyday moments rather than material wealth. Harold cherished his old 1993 GMC short-bed truck, a keepsake purchased from his brother-in-law, Denny. Even after its air conditioner failed, he continued to drive it during the harsh summers of Oklahoma, a testament to his enduring spirit and optimistic outlook on life. Harold’s resilience and ability to see the positive side of any situation were truly remarkable.
