Gloria I. Abernethy Strine, age 79, from Lower Windsor Twp., passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at Lancaster Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was the cherished wife of the late Louis J. Strine.

Born on December 9, 1945, in York, Gloria was the daughter of the late Theon Grace. A proud alumna of Kennard-Dale High School, she dedicated much of her career to serving as a nursing assistant at York Hospital.

Gloria’s memory is cherished by her daughter, Theresa Markle, and son-in-law Rick; stepdaughters, Lisa Ponton and Tina Strine; along with nine grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. She is also fondly remembered by her five siblings, Mildred Smeltzer, Betty Black, Shirley Kline, Donald Grove, and Wanda Washburn, as well as a host of nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death, in addition to her husband, were siblings Glen Grove, Yvonne Robinson, Brenda Grove, Charlene Keener, and Marion Warner.
