Gary C. Ahrens of Marathon, aged 61, passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2025. Born on March 22, 1963, Gary was the son of Ervin and Arletta (Braunel) Ahrens. He was raised on Granite Hill Dairy, the family’s dairy and ginseng farm in Marathon, Wisconsin. A 1981 graduate of Marathon High School, Gary’s early life on the farm shaped much of his character and work ethic.

In 1983, Gary met his future wife, Connie Molthen. Their love blossomed, and they exchanged vows at St. Matthew Ev. Lutheran Church in Marathon on October 13, 1990. Five years earlier, in 1988, Gary and his brother Russell had taken over the reins of Granite Hill Dairy. Together, they transformed the farm with extensive updates and expansions, turning it into a thriving agricultural enterprise.

Gary’s commitment to both his family and his farm left a lasting legacy in the community, characterized by his dedication and love for both.
