About

Edward Charles “Mick” Allman, aged 90, passed away at his residence in Ft. Myers, FL, on March 10, 2025. Born to Homer and Iva (Walter) Allman on August 24, 1934, in Lambertville, MI, Mick lived a full and impactful life. He married his beloved wife, Margaret Barbara “Dolly” Halter in 1954, who sadly passed away in March 2024. A devoted husband, Mick’s greatest accomplishment was fulfilling his wife’s wish to remain at home during her final days.

Mick completed his education at Bedford High School in 1952, where he was an avid athlete, earning letters in multiple sports. His work ethic was evident from an early age; he started delivering newspapers at the age of eight and by fourteen, he was working in a machine shop. It was here that he met Lowell Caulfiel, who would become a lifelong friend and mentor, guiding him through his apprenticeship.

Mick’s service to his country began when he was drafted into the U.S. Army during the Korean War, serving from 1957 to 1959. Following his military service, he pursued higher education, obtaining a degree in Industrial Management while working as an apprentice toolmaker at Tecumseh Products. In 1969, Mick commenced what would become a notable career at the Chrysler Machining Plant in Perrysburg, OH. His dedication and skills quickly led him to become a vital member of the United Auto Workers Local 1435.
