Before her passing, Christy was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Christine Wilson, her first husband, Larry Edmiston, and her brother, Henry Wilson II. She leaves behind her devoted husband, Alvin Anderson, her loving sons, Christopher, Shawn, and Aaron Edmiston, her cherished grandchildren, Elliott, Christian, and Emma Edmiston, as well as her sister, Gail Hoekman.

From an early age, Christy encountered numerous challenges due to her disability. She lived in a period when people with disabilities were frequently marginalized. However, her family’s unwavering support played a crucial role in her numerous achievements. Christy became an advocate for cerebral palsy, utilizing her role as a poster child to raise awareness. She showcased her musical talent by playing percussion in her high school’s marching band and earned a degree from Texas Tech University. Her career as a special education teacher allowed her to inspire and educate others. Throughout her life, Christy exemplified strength and compassion, impacting everyone she met with her profound kindness and personal touch.
