Carolyn Anderson, aged 63, from La Plata, Maryland, passed peacefully of natural causes at her residence on March 7, 2025. Born in Pottsville, Pennsylvania on November 7, 1961, she was the beloved youngest child of Victor and Anna Lepere and grew up in the close-knit coal-mining community of Minersville, PA. Raised as one of five siblings, Carolyn’s early education spanned both Catholic and public schooling systems in Minersville, culminating in her graduation from Minersville High School in 1979 as her class Valedictorian.

During her high school years, Carolyn was a vibrant participant in numerous extracurricular activities, including the National Honor Society, softball, church choir, and cheerleading. She pursued higher education at The Pennsylvania State University, where she obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Education. Carolyn proudly graduated from the first Penn State Scholars Class in 1983, marking a significant milestone in her academic pursuits.
