Carilyn Tarver Ashcroft, aged 97, of Winnfield, Louisiana, sadly passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2025. She was born on September 18, 1927, in Norphlet, Arkansas. Her passing was preceded by her parents, Reece and Ina Mae Keese Tarver; her husbands, B.L. Horton and R.R. “Dick” Ashcroft; her children, Dianna Horton Weego and Robert Leonard Horton; and her twin sister, Marilyn Voorhies. Mrs. Ashcroft devoted many years to education as a teacher in the Winn Parish school system, from which she retired after obtaining her Master’s +30 degree. She was also a dedicated member of the First United Methodist Church in Winnfield.
