About

Anita Roye Davis, aged 86, of North Pole, Alaska, passed away on November 26, 2024, after a swift battle with lung cancer. She died at her home, comforted by the presence of her loved ones.

Born in Texola, Oklahoma, on May 9, 1938, Anita grew up on a local farm and graduated from high school there. At 19, she ventured to Alaska and began working at a bank, where she met her future husband, Jack Davis, while he was stationed there with the military. When Jack was transferred to Alabama, Anita followed him, and they married on New Year’s Eve in Mobile, Alabama. They started their family in Mobile, and later returned to Alaska where she eventually became a bank executive before retiring early.

Anita lived with a zest for life and adored her family. She was a regular at poker games three times a week, loved playing slots into the early hours, and enjoyed trips to Las Vegas where she could truly shine. Anita was also known for her sense of humor and cherished making her family and friends laugh. She was generous with her grandchildren, spoiling them endlessly and was always ready to offer a listening ear and wise advice.

She leaves behind her sister, Debbie Khorrami; daughter, Leslie Lees; grandchildren, Tiffany Heiges, Brandon Davis, and Brittany Davis; and her great-grandchildren, Nevaeh Askew, Kae-Von Askew, Olivia Swab, Evan Davis, and Charlotte Heiges. Anita was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; her son, Rick Davis; and numerous friends and relatives. She will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.
