Alan Roy Will from Pittsfield, MA, departed this life on February 1, 2025, at the Berkshire Medical Center, enveloped in the love of his family and friends following a valiant struggle with respiratory diseases.

Born on December 31, 1950, at Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton, MA, Alan was the son of Alphonse and Marion Will (nee Whittaker). A 1969 alumnus of Mount Greylock Regional High School in Williamstown, MA, Alan was drafted into military service during the Vietnam War era. Opting to serve his country through the Coast Guard, he enlisted in June 1970 and attended the Coast Guard Academy in New London, CT. It was during this time that his first son, Alan Thomas, was born to Vickie Newman. Alan concluded his dedicated service in June 1974, receiving an honorable discharge. His commendations include the Coast Guard Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service Medal, as well as a Certificate of Appreciation from President Richard Nixon, underscoring his commitment and service to the nation.
